Irina Oltean is a doctoral student in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. Her dissertation aims to quantify variation in rates of severe maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality following cesarean and operative vaginal delivery in subgroups of pregnancies classified by case-mix.
Irina's previous research has focused on the impact of SARS-CoV-2 on the clinical outcomes and placental pathology of pregnant women and their infants, gastroschisis, placental abruption, in-vitro fertilization, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and intrauterine growth restriction.
